The annual Golden Members Benefit Concert hosted by the Palos Verdes/South Bay Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon will spotlight the careers and contributions of two of its beloved members: singer and vocal coach Annette Smith and trumpeter, CSUDH music professor, and indefatigable MPE advisor David Champion. Classical and Broadway soprano Jeralyn Glass will sing and share stories of her studies with Annette Smith. A jazz ensemble of former students of Mr. Champion will perform. Dr. Joanna Nachef will share stories of Dr. Champion's enormous contributions to the CSUDH Music Department. The concert will begin at 4pm on Saturday, October 16, at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in RHE. All proceeds will be used to support music education in the South Bay. All attendees must be vaccinated and wear masks during the event. A reception with light refreshments will conclude the event.
